A autora nos orienta a observar a vida que insiste em brotar nas ruínas. Em São Paulo, as ervas daninhas insistem em brotar no asfalto. Elas servem para nada, surgem espontaneamente em lugares indesejados. Irrompem a barreira do improvável. No início do quarto ano de doutorado sentei para repensar a pergunta de pesquisa e os objetivos da minha tese. Depois de enveredar, me perder e me achar em tantas trilhas, desvios e picadas, minha pesquisa parecia um jardim repleto de ervas daninhas, que cresceram demais e tomaram conta. Deixavam tudo mais confuso e mais bonito.

In the preface of the book "The Mushroom at the End of the World" by Anna Tsing, anthropologist Joana Cabral de Oliveira invites us to
occupy the fissures of capitalism.
The author guides us to observe the life that insists on sprouting in the ruins. In São Paulo, weeds insist on sprouting in the asphalt. They serve no purpose, spontaneously appearing in unwanted places. They break through the barrier of the improbable.
At the beginning of the fourth year of my doctoral studies, I sat down to rethink the research question and the objectives of my thesis. After venturing, getting lost, and finding myself on so many trails, detours, and paths, my research seemed like a garden full of weeds that had grown too much and taken over. They made everything more confusing and more beautiful.
I chose to follow the weeds.
